Ok, so I lied. It seems that "opinions on wheels" posts get more attention on the site. I dont need any opinions on my wheels. I do need an answer to the following question as soon as possible though. If anyone could please help me, id very much appreciate it.

I read here more than I post, searching usually gives me the answer i need, however Ive had trouble finding a good answer to this question.

I have a Sirius Sat unit and a TomTom One New edition. My question is how do I "hard wire" these into the fuse panel so that they turn on and off with the radio?? I'd like them to turn off when I open the door like the radio does. I would like to do this the right way, So could someone please instruct me on the safest way to wire these in?? Im capable of doing the work, Im just hesitant when it comes to wiring and electricity, I like to avoid small fires. The satelite unit is in the windshield near the rearview mirror, and the nav is where the ashtray used to be.

Right now I have cigarette lighter plugs for everything. It makes me crazy seeing all of the clutter. Ive done many searches on the site here and I cant locate a specific answer to my dilemma.

Thanks in advance

You can always tap into your key ignition wires as long as you use fuses. I worked in car audio for over 7 years. That how I would do it, but you definatly need a meter and wiring diagram to help find the right wires.

Heres a clue: they are thicker than the other wires.
