ok camera buffs

im looking for a new camera and a friend of mine has a nikon L110. it seems nice and the price is good (around $270~ish) seems to get anything else that does what the nikon does i need to drop around $500. ive always had sub $100 point and shoot cameras and after only getting around 80 good pics out of 400+ (at boscobel) ive decided to upgrade. i need it for taking pics of cars (from a moving car) and low light with minimal shutter lag. damn fuji now has horrible lag especially in low light. any input?

Get the Nikon D50 kit, they are cheaper now. Thats what I shoot with and its amazing!! Unless you want a simple point and shoot.

yeah geno thats a lil outta my range and i do think i need more of a point and shoot camera

If size isnt a problem then get the D50, on auto it is a complete point & shoot. For an actual point & shoot I would highly recommend the Nikon P90.

Search clist for a D40 or D5000... great cameras.

canon has awesome point and shoots or get the eos T1i or T2i they take amazing shots and do full HD video!

thanks geno, looking into the p90 also, seems the l110 comes out slightly ahead (says these guys: http://snapsort.com/compare/Nikon_Coolpix_L110-vs-Nikon_Coolpix_P90) still but do i like the view finder on the p90. and thanks to all the other options out there but id like to stay under 300 new, probably should of said that in my first post
