Hi, I am new to this site and this engine. Basically, just wondering if anyone can tell me what might be going on according to this pic before I start getting into it. Just recently had the oil changed by the dealer (first time, go figure). Never had issues before this, thoughts?

It doesn't spray from there, it's more like that it seeps out.
That is one of the two oil control solenoids for the variable valve timing. It seems to be common for the o-ring seal to the valve cover to start seeping with age/miles. It has nothing to do with the oil change that you just had, or anything the dealer did. You just didn't notice it before now.

You can clean it up every so often and just live with it. (It does no harm and the you could never detect the amount of oil loss.) Or you can replace the o-ring. Unfortunately, the valve cover has to be removed to do this. If you do, you should really replace the valve cover gasket while you are in there. (It might start leaking when you remove and re-install the valve cover anyway.) Also, you might as well do both sides while you are at it.

Is this a GEN2 cause I don't seem to have that solenoid on my 02 v8

Can anyone, who has done this themselves, give me a scale of 1-10 on the hard/annoyance level of doing it by myself?

Alright, thanks again joegr! Looks like I should call for some back up on this one, ha :give

You can quickly recognize in the picture, the engine cover, our 1st GEN's covers look different.

I knows this May sound weired but mines didn't come with a engine cover. If you know someone with one I'd be more then willing to pay for it.
