Oil sender and harness

Finishing up a basket case 2000 LS 3.9. There is a oil sender next to the filter( I assume its a temputare sender) My question is where does the sender harness come from and is it for the cooling fan? Thanks

There is an oil pressure switch and an oil temperature sensor.
The harness should go to the PCM.
I do not believe it normally has any effect on the cooling fan. The PCM controls fan speed based on coolant temperature and head temperature.

I checked with the dealer and he confirmed it is a temperature sender. But still do not
know what it controls( fan or computor)

The PCM reads it.
