I did some searching and didnt find anything. Anyone ever have an issue with the oil pan gasket forming a leak? Some of the bolts holding the pan get little drops of oil forming on them and the gasket area itself looks a little "oily". The car has 185k miles so i figure that gasket must have some kind of lifespan. Any thoughts? I am getting some minor oil drips on driveway but only after the car sits overnight.

I'm going to bring this thread back up. I had an oil pan leak some months ago. I bought an Fel Pro gasket and changed it out. I don't drive the LS everyday but it's done started to leak again. I followed the instructions from the above post when I changed the gasket the first time. I also don't think I did the stage 2 torque and I sheared one of the heads off one of the bolts. The pan is back leaking and has been for some time. So my question is this, if I take the pan back off, extract the broken bolt, replace and retorque everthing to the correct specs do I need to put some type of sealant on the pan? I didn't when I changed the gasket the first time but now that I need to correct this so I'm asking do I need to put some type of sealant or just torque the bolts to the correct settings?

In your case, I would put some sealant. There's a good chance that the pan is slightly warped from being over-torqued, and then from running with one of the bolts missing. Be sure to tighten in the sequence specified.
