Anybody done this yet? Mine is leaking, don't want do the $700 route (IE, want to do it myself.)

Know it's involved, just share you experiences, tips, etc, if any of you have done it.

I have done mine but engine was out of the car being replaced at the time. Just one thing you have to do first is snug up the bolts that attach pan to bellhousing first so pan gets pulled back to the "stop" then snug up rail bolts. New gasket will be metal core with rubber. Only need 4 dabs of silicone on top of gasket where the parting lines for timing cover and rear of block are. You will see spot when you pull old one down.Like I mentioned don't know pitfalls doing it in car, sorry.

and was hoping somebody would say it wasn't quite that bad:-) It is what it is I guess. Thanks for replying...
