if is says to change the oil. hold the oil change reset in for 5 seconds...

When u changed the oil did u reset the oil up on your message center?

I suppose,,a Ford/mercury/lincoln dealer did it. I had it done last spring just before I went north. Have only driven it 54 miles since coming back. I push the reset button,,,everythings OK,,until I turn it off and restart it. Shouldn't it have come on right away last spring as I left the dealers,,if that was the problem??

We drive my pickup 99% of the time,,when I'm working down here in Fla.

my low oil message comes on from time to time. It might just be that your sensor's wires are a bit corroded.

at one time i did... now i have a 98' and still have the 96' and getting warmer here... around 40 today... hahaha... heading south next month for a bit.

Just to restate the point made earlier,
reset will only clear the message during the ride, you need to press on the little flat switch next to the message center and hold it down. The reset clock will count down from 5. You do that at every oil change.

Thanks Man,,I don't get to spend a lot of time with this car. Guess too many irons in the fire. We work 7 days a week up north every summer,,bought it to leave in Fla,,so we can SPORT around down here in the winter, "BUT" this winter I've had a HERNIA op. OCT 6th didn't get down here til Dec 5th (recovery time) "THEN" SICK 3 TIMES WITH "SUPER" SINUS INF. Took last antibiotic yesterday. (keeping my fingers crossed). Hell, feel stupid,,looking right at OIL RESET BUTTON and didn't see it. "pills". 850MG AUGMENTIN 2 TIMES A DAY,,,MAKES LIKE A ZOMBIE. Only thing that kicks it.

There are a bunch of us who live in the Tampa Bay area, so there's plenty of Mark VIII support there.

I worked for ABC FM in the early 70's in Houston as the general sales manager back when we were called "Underground Rock Radio" or "Progressive Rock."
