oil leak, intake

i have a bit of a leak in the of the intake( cobra intake) where the two halves meet. i know replace the seal but is this normal to have some oil in the intake?

Say what? There is no oil flow in the intake at all. Well, maybe some sneaks in via the PCV.

that's what i was thinking, something sneaking in through the vacuum

Replace your PCV valve, only OEM Motorcraft is the way to go IMO...

It happens, on most intakes. At some point, some gets by the PCV on all cars. A thin light amount is nothing to worry about, put a new valve in if its bothering you. If you don't see smoke when you first start the car in the mornings, its not enough to even make a difference. I don't know how many intake gaskets i've done in my time, but at least 90% of them have at least some oil in them

The "test" is that if it rattles it is good, if it doesn't it is bad...

It rattles, I just got my oil changed maybe they got some on the manifold

The rattle check is kinda the standard, but if you clean it off you should be able to blow through it one way and not the other.
