I need to do an oil flush due to having water in the crankcase of my 2002 Lincoln LS V8. I am on a pretty tight budget, so I am trying to determine how to minimize tbe cost of this. I know synthetic or synthetic blend is recommended for the LS. I was thinking that since I am going to throw out all of the oil added after draining the existing oil, that it might not really matter if I use standard oil for the flush. I am tending to think the weight of the oil might not matter either. After the flush, I will add 6quarts of 5W-20 or 5W-30 synthetic blend to the engine. Am I assessing the situation accurately, in thinking that for the flush, I would be safe in getting the least expensive standard oil available?
