Looks like the filter failed, and was failing to filter any oil.

In which case I'd do a couple of quick oil changes to remove any possible contaminants. I'd at least change the filter every couple hundred miles for a bit.

Metal fatigue possible also or over tightening. Oil pressure? Oil pressure light? Use a good quality oil filter each time. WIX
invented the oil filter. Stay away from FRAM, they collapse. Purolator, Motorcraft, Bosch etc. good choices.

Wasnt over tightened for sure it was fairly easy to come off but wasnt leaking loose. No oil light came on ever and never noticed any sort of noise or running rough. Does anyone know if the inlet of the oil filter is the little holes or the one big hole.

There appears to be dents in the circumference of the metal around the silver metal mating surface, why?
