will you ?? maybe i will get everyone elses attention on my 5th post and ill keep changing the title to itt

check oil filter adapter gasket....gasket is $20 from the dealership, remove power steering pump remove housing clean throughly install new gasket torque

if unsure if its leaking, clean with brake clean..blow off with air gun...start car run for a few and watch it closely for leaks...remeber you will also need a jug of coolant good time to flush anyways...i do it to all my modular engines when i get them, its more like maintanance

Don't be dick ... but you need to be patient your questions will be answered but don't forget that in your first post you were given the answer search ... as it's been answered many time before ...

That sounds like the oil filter adapter gasket. do a search on "oil filter adapter gasket"

and you should find a lot of information, its an inexpensive part, and if your handy enough to change the oil, you should be able to do it.

87 did a nice job.

Before i start, have you ever re-read anything you said in that post? i re-read it ten times to finally figure out what you are talking about.

Is this saying you hope you have an oil leak? Most people hope that they don't.

the leak is coming from the middle of the engine
If the leak is in the middle of your engine thats a good thing, oil lubricates many of your essential parts in the motor. I would not consider it a leak, it is normal to have a 5 qt leak in the middle your motor. If you have a leak on your oil dipstick that means its all good, no oil leak on dipstick very bad.

There must be a reason for this, you never take a word from a stranger about a car before inspecting it yourself, did you pop the hood, look under the car. He may have at one point had a car that leaked like a little school girls eye after sliding her knee on a the pavement while trying to catch a frog that was hopping away when a rock caught the side of her shoe and made her fall due to the uneven weight on her ankle. So to him this might have been a minor leak.

ok dont get started i was in a real rush to try to figure out what was wrong with my car...so i hopped on here wanting a quick answer.. thats why no one can understand what i wrote.. got the car about a week ago i popped the hood looked everywhere, looked on the ground where the guy had it parked all day didnt see much ... he told me there was a small leak from the oil gasket so i tried to look didnt really see anything ust a little oil...so thats what happened didnt mean to seem like a dick just in a rush not trying to make any enemys on here

You were impatient to buy the car and now you're impatient to fix a big oil leak for buying a car you impatiently purchased...maybe it's time to be patient and stop blaming people for your impatient mistakes

whoah i think this is the nicest you guys have been to a newb!

never really any enemies, you gotta watch out for people with sarcasm, and learn how to take it, such as frogman, haven't seen him do to much damage to newbs lately, but all in all everyone has taken :q:q:q:q at some point

wasnt really impatient took about a week to buy it after i test drove it all day didnt notice anything looked at everything under the hood but i wouldnt say i was impatient to but the car

I believe Frogman is out doing service for our country or our country is working on buying him a new car.

Danny nice job of not letting this thread turn into one of those threads ... you know ...

thanks alot guys for all the info when i get off work tomorow im gonna buy all the stuff for it

I changed mine without doing anything but taking the old one out and putting a new one in. I didn't have to remove the p/s pump. It was a pita and took about an hour, but I had no major problems. Also, paid $7 bucks at NAPA for the gasket.
