Oil Cooler

Am I correct in thinking that the V8 engine has an oil-to-water 'oil-cooler' plumbed-in? Thanx!

The Sport Model and LSE V8, not all V8, have both trans and oil cooler depending on the generation of LS.

That's funny. Both of mine are oil to water coolers located at the oil filter. The service manual indicates that the purpose is to get to oil up to temperature faster, and keep it from getting too hot.
