I got a very slight leak after my trans flush at the dealer 2 months ago and it seems the hoses coming out of the oil cooler are a little weak or worn. You can get 4 1/2 feet of it on rock auto for $5 (why can't the coolant hoses be that cheap:confused:) and I noticed the coolers start at $20, didnt know they were that cheap.

Being that mines almost 10yrs old with the fins looking crushed in would it be worthy of changing at the same time? Perhaps put a larger one in? Not sure if it would make a difference at all versus whats in there now. It does tend to shift a little hard if sitting in stop and go traffic for over 30 mins. I know I should replace the solenoid eventually but wondering about the cooler.

You mean transmission cooler? "oil cooler" commonly means the engine oil.

Are you sure the fins are crushed? The multi-fluid cooler is the middle one, between the radiator and the A/C condenser. I suppose an aftermarket one could be used, but I'd be hard pressed to consider it necessary unless the stock unit actually broke.

The stock unit is a "multi fluid cooler" because it also cools the power steering and (in Gen 1) hydraulic fan fluid in different circuits in the one unit.

(note that I am assuming that either you have a Gen 1 or the Gen 2 unit is similar to the Gen 1.....)
