Does ayone know about rear door sill scuff plates for the LS? Were these a factory item, and if so what year (s) were they standard? I saw a picture on here not too long ago of one and it matched the style of the front sill plate, but was embossed with an LS logo instead of LINCOLN. Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks, Jim................

You can order them from your dealer or from Bill Jenkins at Team Ford.

Here's a link:

The one shown in Tony's picture above were a standard item on the 2003 model year only. They were deleted in 2004 to 2006, but you can still buy them.

I added them to my 2006, and the installation is easy. The parts come with tabs that are designed to be inserted into holes in the body. I cut those off with cutters, sanded down the nubs, and mounted the plates using double sided molding tape. I can post a full How-To if people are interested.

Im going on monday to work and i will ask the guys at the parts area if they are available... ive ben working in a Lincoln Dealership almost 3 years and i learn more of the LS here than at work..... Keep It Up Guys

I would actually love to install these so if anyone's got a connection for a reasonable price let me know.

I ordered my set from TeamFord. I will see if I can dig up a price for them. I think they were pretty cheap though.

That looks really good. These will fit on an 00-02 right? Doesn't seem like there is much to "fit", just positioning and sticking.

GO UT!

Jeez, seems like everyone here is either a broke student or really cheap.

Part numbers are 3W4Z5413228AAB and 3W4Z5413229AAB for the right and left sides. The price for each is about $25. They can be ordered at any Ford or Lincoln dealer.

Todd; thanks for posting a picture of the install. Now I know what the finished product looks like, considering we have the same color combination!

This is one item I never took notice of on the 2003 model even though I test drove one back in late '02 when my local dealer first got one in.

Isn't it funny that they whittle away at small items such as these, not to mention those strut tower caps that 1st gen. models had, to reduce cost?

Anyhow, they look great and I'm ordering them Monday morning..........:)

When was the last time you were a broke student?

Try affording gas, groceries, and beer on a 5.75 an hour movie theatre job

$50 a pair seems like a reasonable price considering you're paying for color matched plastic pieces, the black sill protector, and two machined metal plates

Hey ToldG,
How much trouble would it be to do a factory installation.
Wouldn't they stay attached better if you did drill holes ?
Aren't the front scuff plates mounted that way too ?

I'm ordering a set tomorrow.

I would not drill the holes in the sills for a "factory" install. Just cut off the mounting posts on the bottom and us 3M double sided body mounting tape to hold them in place.

That's what I did and trust me.... They will not come off. EVER!

Tony's right, its not worth drilling. Using the 3m Mounting Tape is the easiest and safest way. See photoz:

1985, and I wasn't driving a Lincoln!

You don't know what broke is until you have a wife, an ex-wife, and two kids in college. :D

They only come in black to match the front sills on the 03-06 cars. You must have a First Generation LS. In that case, you can still add them, but they will be black.

Ok i just painted my front scuff plates black and here is the how-to for those of you who have a Gen1 LS:

Materials:
DSC03340.gif

Use Masking Tape to cover the Lincoln Logo. Then take a knife and cutout around the logo.

Then Spray a coat of Flex Stix this should help the paint adjust to the material of the scuff plate.
After Painting the scuff plates...
