Oddbal pic request: GenII Ash tray?

Mine snapped off the pivot boss. I've got that fixe, I've got the spring and all the parts, I just need to figure out how the spring winds up, how to get this all put back together so it works.

Anyone have a pic of the inside hinge showing the spring? it's a long shot!

I think i've got it. I took a look at things and stuck the spring where it "seemed" to go, and so far it's working.

Now, I'm machining a new cupholder latch out of 6061 T6: It.will.not.break.

$300 please. right now I'm carefully filing the "stub" at the end intot he shape of the button, after which I'll polish it. If I could find my button, I might be able to graft that on and save some time. I've got about 4 hours into that damn this so far.

I also elected to hog-out the whole cupholder and ashtray assembly. right now it's just the doors and voids below. I need to go to Radio shack or someplace to find some black plastinc "project boxes" to splice into the spaces. I don't smoke, and I don't let anyone smoke in my car. The cup-holding will have to be sorted out another way, Lincolns design for that was terrible.

The catch is, no matter how well you polish the aluminum, it won't match the chrome button. The aluminum looks good though, you just have to decide if you want to do them both, try to integrate the old busted button, or just live with the mismatch. I'm diggin the mismatch right now.
