Seeing as I have a spare MARK VIII 2nd gen engine looking for a home this has given me an idea

I mean if you can put an unattractive Vette engine in a Beetle why not a MOD engine :D

I'm between something like this or putting it in my C1500 to really piss off my GM friends :shifty:

we actually have an old rusted/patina'd Nash Metropolitan sottin in the woods.

We've been talking with a guy about trading a 65 Harley iron head (needs to be put together and motor rebuilt) a pepped up (needs to be assembled) v-tech for the Nash.

The LT1 is FAR from an unattractive engine.

The LSx's on the other hand.......

Aside from it's front of block distributor it looks no different from a regular SBC. Not very exciting but the 4.6 DOHC I think is a lot cooler looking. Not quite a HEMI of old but what is?

Meh...

The distributor is a non issue since you can't see it behind the Waterpump anyway.

The LT1/4 is awesome looking with the cast aluminum intake and the beltless waterpump.

And they are torque monsters out of the box.

Got ya!! One of the Guys on my V8Bugs forums did a real nice Audi all wheel drive for road/street.

Yeah on my Youtube page I have another guy who claims to have a 300+whp sleeper 55 bug w turbo water cooled and a mid engine VR6 turbo ghia/custom 650 whp.. He claims to be from PA like the LT1 rear engine Beetle is from but I haven't Video taped em to confirm anything.

I just got back from Carlisle PA dropping off some cars. I got lucky and got to drive a Avanti that just turned 40,000 on the way up to the meet

I've been a SBC fan since I were a lad.

The LT1/4 is 2nd only to our 4cam modulars for me.

Kinda funny cause we look at that engine as a bit of a black ball engine. Limited stuff you can do as opposed to a regular SBC. Had one sitting on a stand in front of the shop that was donated by Chevy and it sat for years till someone offered money and it was sold.

Played more with the SB2 but then again we did get a 25 Anniversary T/A to lift the front wheels and carry them @ E-town. That was being driven there and on pump gas.
