Hello all,

I currently have an OBDII application for my laptop that I use to read the codes on my OBDII cars, but it doesn't seem to work on my 04 LS. Can anyone recommend a good software/plug that I can put on my laptop that does work with the LS?

Thanks.

Tony

I use autoenginuity.com scan tool. For a few extra buck you can get the enhanced OEM OBDII codes which opens up a lot of the sensors for reading. I have used it for my 00 LS, G35 may it rest in peace and my Wifes 3.5 Altima and many other cars. Their support is flippin fantastic as well.

Thanks for your replies so far. The scantool looks the most promising. It has the price point I'm looking for. Does anyone know anything about the software that comes with it?

Tony

It's pretty basic. Reads codes, shows real time data for some parameters.
You can download it for free off the website without buying the interface and see for yourself.
I have OBDSpy2 which I think is still free as well as Proscan both of which show if the monitors are ready for an OBDII test.
PCMSCAN which gives you a virtual dashboard and provides tracking graphs,
and also Digimoto.
Some of these give you dyno pulls and 1/4 mile ET and speed as well.
Click on their software menu and you'll get links to these various free and pay programs.

Are there any that allow two way communications? This would allow some mild tuning.

Thanks again

Tony

No,
none of these do any tuning.
Your only choice there is XCal2 for 400.00 or the Livewire
tuner for 550.00 which you can mount on the dash and have it give you real time data on it's screen as you drive.
But you have to load a mail order tune into either of these devices if you want anything more than what comes with it
other than adding or subtracting a degree of advance, tire height, gear change, shift firmness and/or shift point, but that's about it.
