On my '94, does the computer "store" data such as: cylinders with an intermittent miss and other info that happens while the car is running?

I know nothing about car computers, but trying to learn as fast as I can.

Saturday, I took my car to a sand pit I do some contract work for, and the maintenance supervisor hooked up their Actron CP9185. We only had time for a KOEO test, and got the following codes:

111 No Faults detected KOEO test
157 Mfg. specific code (found out here that's MAF voltage)
634 Manual lever position voltage out of range in Park

Nothing regarding a cylinder skip or like that... do I need a KOER test to tell me that info?

I'm having a low RPM skip under load, mostly when pulling a grade at ~60 in OD... upshift to 3rd, RPMs go up to ~23-2400, smooths right out. I've Seafoamed it once, changed fuel filter, trans. filter and fluid (to Mercon V), 1-2 accumulator upgrade, and spark plugs (to Autolite 764). Plug wires are next, after I figure out which ones to buy, and save up a little extra coin for them.

Also, I found a Equus 3145 Ford Digital Code Reader for $25... worth it, or no?

TIA, I always try to search first and not ask repeat questions... but didn't find much about OBD-1.

almost sounds like sticking butterfly valves in the ...damn i can not thing of the name of it at the moment, right after the intake valve before the heads

You mean his IMRC's?

1) Will the computer tell me about IMRC faults?

2) Does the engine need to be running during testing to get all the info needed?... or does the car computer store the info?

3) Is the Equus 3145 worth the $25 for what it does?

I found a Equus 3145 for like $7.00 on ebay. it works nice. i believe it also scans ABS codes also. New they are like $25-30. they come with a manual/book. you can D/L the manual online too.

You'll need to do a cylider balance test. The 9185 should have instructions on how to do it. I'm not totallly sure if the cheaper testers do it too, but I think they will as well...

You can learn a lot on OBD1 here.

Thanks for that link, very informative reading. That'll give me something to do mornings for quite awhile.

I'll study up on cylinder balance test this week, and do one this weekend... Thanks. Also gonna try to find an online user manual for the 9185, and read it too. Will study up on IMRC info. as well.

I only have access to the 9185 on Sat. mornings... the maint. dept. runs a skeleton crew, and no bosses around. :D
