First they managed to screw up an alignment... How do you do a 4 wheel alignment without centering the steering wheel?

Then they decided to round off 11 of the 20 lug nuts, resulting in the domes having to be cut off of 4 of them.

I twice told them to use a 6 point metric socket, and they continued to use a 12 point, hammering away at it to get it on the lug...

I will never go to NTB again.

THEN they tried to quote me new OEM lug nuts.

I laughed.

This morning called customer service twice, then moved up the chain to the corporate offices.

Seemed to work, got a call from the district manager about an hour later, and should have 20 OEM lug nuts by Friday :)

All chain stores should be avoided for automotive work...

+1

Took mine to a national chain GY for one of those 60,000 tuneups a few years ago. $700 and guess what WASN'T DONE:

1. Fuel filter
2. PCV Valve
3. Passenger side sparks
4. Who knows what else

Then they had the audacity to tell me I need a new VC gasket, which I obliged and paid them another $400 (obviously before I grew a set and started doing this myself). Which they flubbed an then over torqued the bolts (which subsequently broke off when I had to re repair it).

After all that, car was running like hell and they told me, "well we'll have to look at it tomorrow as we are closing now". Long and short, I blew a brain vein just having to talk to those f'n losers. Never again; me, dealer, or a new car..

Yeah, I have some anger about it:-)

I bought my Dunlop tires on tirerack.com and had the NTB in Olathe KS mount them. I also had them do an alignment while it was there. They managed to pull off the alignment without the kit that was needed for the front end. No one in town had one in stock. I was pretty happy with NTB. I guess it varies from location to location.

I've had one tire start leaking from the bead, but from what I hear it's normal to have new tires on aluminum wheels do that. Time to get out the bead seal. :D

That is not normal to have the bead leak. Reputable tire dealers will as part of the mounting procedure will wire brush the bead mounting area on aluminum wheels when mounting new tires. If they do not clean the bead area they are just saving time and hoping you will come back for a tire repair when the bead leaks. ALWAYS ask their procedure before mounting tires. Especially in northern climates where road salt is used.

picked up my Motorcraft lug nuts today...

they seemed pretty pissed off...

walked in, said Im here to pick up some lug nuts.

Dude hands them to me and turns around to continue talking on the phone with his friend.
