Although I drove my Mark 3.5 hours to get this - had to test out the Mach intake, injectors and new fuel rail work. :)

I do some photography on the side, some years I can take 10,000 or more, some years just a few hundred. I am just too busy sometimes. Anyway, here are a couple "desktop pictures" that turned out nice. I used a little camera trick that I have not done before, these are not post-processed or cleaned up yet. Just wanted to share! :)

Really good work. Can I use it as my desktop if you don't mind? My girlfriend doesn't like the Mark as my background haha.

What kind of camera?

I have a couple cameras, these were taken with my very old and trusty Sony Mavica CD400 / 4 megapixel.

Well its not hard, at least with a digital but not all digital can do this. I could have used all manual setting, but I used "Aperture priority" where I set the f/stop to 8 then the camera automatically adjust the shutter speed and other settings. In this case the shutter is held open longer because the aperture is not letting much light in. Thus the longer shutter is open the more "motion" it will pick up but the low aperture setting prevents over-exposure. This requires a tri-pod.
 
The drive was more fun. Although I have a problem with the car that I thought I fixed and apparently did not. :( Thought I was almost stuck up in upper Michigan!
 
same camera trick thats used to draw with lights in pictures -also those cool highway pics). very nicely done!
 
You've put way way too much money into that car to sell now...

You could always join the Gen2 club...
 
Nice I hope my new Nikon D50 can do this. I have a big event Im shooting this weekend and I would love to do this for some shots.

D50 has a nice processor, like a D80/D200-if you have a VR lens (I have the 18-200, a great lens, on my D300) you can hand-hold it, no need for a tripod and ap priority will handle it easily (that's photo 101)-trick with digital especially is to try to underexpose one stop and you can get away with more underexposure with Photoshop corrections. Overexposure is fatal if you get much past one stop over.

Tripods are nice for very long exposures and if composition/framing is a major consideration but are a pain to drag around. I use a monopod if light is a major issue, but I rarely need it since a good sensor will go to EV 1 or less.
 
It looks like the water that is falling in both pics is fake. Very nice pics man.
