Well I have had this problem for a while. I have a 95 mark8 110k. I just did a tune up yesterday it needed one anyway, so I did new plugs, wires, air filter and fuel filter. It does accelerate better but when I press down all the way on the pedal it feels like there is something blocking. At times the check light comes on but I cannot scan it. I don't think its fuel pressure. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Why can you not scan it? If the light was one, code stored. Even if the light goes back off.

I am betting fuel or spark. Hows the fuel filter and are the coil packs original?

I didn't think of spark. The coil plugs look good. I bought a scanner in the past it didn't work. I was missing a plug on my eec connector. My mechanic has a scanner that can scan from 1983-2007 snap on but yesterday he couldn't find the eec plug connector. Should I test for spark with a kb tester or is it better to test with a scope?

To add the old fuel filter was bad. It looked like it was on there for a few years

You sure? There's two parts to it.

Take off the EEC cover and you should see the kinda triangular shaped black connector.

Now look at the EEC cover you took off - should be a small grey plug that you pull out.

I do have the triangular connector, I do have the grey plug that is separate. What do I do after that?
