Here are a couple pictures of the accident with my Blackjack. Dunno why it has such a blueish hue to them. I think I have a camber issue on the front right tire... Check out the perfection in that hood though!

aww man, sorry to see that. i'd go ape sh*t on someone if they hit me and it is totally their fault.

thats rough man. were you underwater while taking the pictures? you get sideswiped? (haven't been following the story)

Haha, well I was kinda out of it when I got hit, so I didn't realize I had the camera setting on tungsten. It kinda adds to the depressing nature of the photos anyway. Some lady pulled out of a parking lot right into the side of me.

i'm no pro, but it doesn't look totaled to me. even though i had a 2001 olds alero that i got into an accident all by myself with. i spun out going 75 in the pouring rain on I-95 and rear ended the guard rail. the trunk and bumper was smashed, and the rear glass broke out, and they told me it was totaled. made 2 or 3 grand off it though.

To me, it doesn't look totaled. just because the rear quarter didn't get fubared. but if the frame is bent, time for a new car!

+1, looks fixable for sure but I know how he feels about his car.

Looks to high of a impact to bend the frame but hey I guess it could happen.

Maybe I should sneak in the lot in the middle of the night and handle that. I guess I should send it to the Lincoln dealership to get the price higher and maybe they'll total it. I'm not sure exactly what the percentage is in NJ but it's somewhere in the 50-80% range.

if they claim it as a loss, would they cover the remainder of your loan? if you have a loan on it still. i've never been in an accident but it would really stink to pay money on a car still if you don't even have it.

It's been paid off for a few years. What do you think about attempting to get it totaled guys?

Get it totaled, buy it back, and sell me your drivetrain. I wanna go FI, but need a lower mileage engine.

Honestly though, if you haven't done a lot of mods, I'd just total it out and go car shopping.

^ that might be a good idea if you are good at crunching numbers and can make sure you get those parts out.

i don't know all the options you have, but the max price on kbb is about 7k. it looks like it should have more than 3k in damage. so i'd be hopeful for a total.

Its your right to bring it to any certified repair shop!! so if your L.dealer has a good body shop bring to them, also no matter what body shop you use ,insist on only NEW factory replacement parts!!! The ins co. will try and screw you at every turn if you let them. They will authorize cheap aftermarket parts or used parts and they will try and screw you on a rental, you drive a Lincoln so your rental should be a compairable luxury perfomance car IE another Lincoln!!!! good luck!!!

Doesn't look totalled. I think it will depend on how that wheel got so out of whack. If its suspension only it won't be so bad to fix as compared to if the control arm ripped out.

Well, my dad called and said he talked to the owner of the body shop, and they said that the car looks totaled to them. I guess that's a good sign. I might do as someone suggested and ask them to work with me to get the price up.

+1. New doors, fender, bumper depending on if those are gouges or just smudges, a little work on the quarter panel. It is what happened behind the front wheel that is the real question. I assume it still runs.

Dibs on the headlights.
