Something ive never learned about, but heard a few times....

I just ordered some EBC slotted rotors from LSkoncepts.com. Just putting them on the fronts. Does it matter which goes on which side? if heard storys about people putting them on wrong and they are noisey and eat pads. if this is true, how do i tell which to put on which side? In all my car loving years ive never upgraded to any rotors other then stock.

Also, im going to go to some better brake pads but im not sure what to get. i want something that will do good with the slotted rotors. Im stuck between EBC pads, porterfield pads, and hawk pads. Any that are better over the others for slotted rotors?

thanks for the info

It does matter but without pics its hard to explain. Hopefully someone will toss some up.

Actually since it really dont take a LS here yah go....

They should appear to be "slinging" forward

Do a search, this topic has been talked about plenty of times. I remember reading a big write up about slotted vs cross drilled rotors. I'm about to do my brakes too and i'm thinking about going with slotted and porterfield pads.

As you can see, they're marked. Note the "R".

These rotors are noisy as f*ck just driving around. They make like a baseball card in a spoke sound. Drives me nuts.

Mine are great in the rain! Its just the damn noise that makes me mad.

I almost failed inspection cause they thought something was wrong with the braking system.

I am using the cross drilled only, no slots. And yes the noise but they stop so much better. You should really consider some stainless steel brakelines. That is a better improvement than the rotors and pads.

well hopefully they wont be that bad, intresting, some mercedes benz have crossdrilled rotors stock, and they arnt loud at all to me.

I've had cross drilled rotors before on my 87 LSC, made by Stillen and they made no noise whatsoever. I'm thinking it's the slots making the noise.
