they need to be sort of cheap, but i cant stand the squeak off all 4 of the wheels from the brand new $40.00 all around brake pad set, i have gone at least through a few tanks of gas and they have still not stopped, its driving me nuts. thanks.

i am ordering from max (5star) hopefully today, so maybe him?

just get rid of that thought (CHEAP)!!!! spend some money..... i mean alls they do is stop you!! why? wouldnt you want some good brakes?

post some good brake pads that don't squeak, get that thought out of your head (not helping me) wouldn't you want some good help?

ummm.... sounds like you answered your own question(max @ five star)

so once again what was this post for? oh wait you already figured it out.

and the first thing you said was cheaper...... most good thing that work well are not the cheapest. or cheaper. you gonna get cheaper gas? the cheaper car wash? cheap tires? cmon now. i was helping. get cheap out of your head.

They probably put used ones on, hence the price. You get what you paid for. Want cheap? Go to Autozone. Duralast dont last long, make tons of dust but they dont squeak much.

I have never had a problem with squeaky pad cost doesn't matter
if you put in new pads propely and they are still making noise
take a wire wheel to the rotors and scuff them up this will take care of the problem normaly

i did the brakes, and no they were not used, the front pads were from rock auto, the back pads are from autozone (or one of those places)

sounds like it would work, good idea though? i put all new calipers, pads, and rotors on.

we used to scuff up rotors all the time in the shops when somone would complain about break noise after they got new breaks just a light scuffing not
grinding or anything

i bought some $70 pads and they squeaked, but after I had my rotors refinished the squeak stopped.

Don't they have that glue of goo that you put on the sides of the pads to stop the chatter?

Don't know never had to use it. But I am getting a little chatter on my 95...

that spray tacky stuff (permatex, red) on the back of the pads solves brake noise, i always use it, never a peep.

Your kidding right?

Let's look at this from a different perspective.

If you spent a little over $100 for "GOOD" pads. You would

1] Not have the squeak that bothers you
2] You and your Loved ones would be safer
3] You just might save your beloved car from being TOTALED.

So where is the savings? This is a Safety item. You don't fool around with safety items.

I have these.

I buy ceramics for any car I have if they are available, expensive, but I have to admit, i spend more because, over the years I have learned (with cars especially) you get what you pay for-Royal Purple oil, better filters (learned here years ago Fram oil filters are not a good idea/junk) name brand parts-yea, it adds up, but in the long run I have less problems, time is money...

I can relate to going cheap where possible, but it's been said here a million times, Lincolns are not the way to go if you want to save money. You could go out and spend three times or more what your mark cost you and get a new Kia, then put cheap parts in it, it's a Kia, a throw-away car anyway, doesn't matter. Your Mark is 100 times the car a Kia is, spend a little extra, it is worth it. jmo

I've been using Porterfield R4S pads on my car for the past year and a bit and they are quiet. They are not the cheapest thou at ~$95-110 a set. Far better than the oems I had and worth the extra to me...
