I've got a 2000 LS with a little issue. When the steering wheel retracts back to home position telescopically, it sounds like it could use some grease. Have any of you had this issue, and if so, how did you take care of it?

Why, yes I have. On my 06. One particularly hot day, some oil/grease dripped down from under the dash and shortly after that, the wheel started making an awful sound while retracting. It was still under warranty, so I took it in and they greased it. That took care of the sound for a while. Now, I have to grease it every so often. I use a can of spray lube (don't use WD40) and a small plastic hose so that I can get it where it needs to be. If you look under the dash, you will see a square shaft that rotates and moves in and out as the wheel extends and retracts. Both sides of that need to be lubed. I've never had any such trouble on my 06.

It should have said "I've never had any such trouble on my 04."

I have the same awful sound coming from my wheel, so I just disabled easy access.
