No Spark!! PLEASE help!

I've been at this for four days now and it is driving me crazy. Does anybody out there know how to solve my problem? Here is the thread detailing my problems:

I've been told that it can only be the crank sensor, ignition module, or powertrain control module. I replaced all three.

I have also been told by one that it must be the crank sensor... he said it's ALWAYS the crank sensor; now I don't believe him (local mechanic).

Obviously I am missing something that would keep the coils from sparking. I don't know if it is a faulty part, or if the system's logic is disabling the spark.

I really need to fix this thing so I can get back to work, and I can't afford to just replace every part in the electrical system until it works again.

Maybe someone here can answer some questions I have posted over there, because there are not many brave ones following my thread.

Crank sensor it would normally be. Assuming you did everything in that thread, which I will not read just assume they told you, I am note sure. Fuses, relays, etc I assume checked out?

Your Anti theft light should stop blinking when you shut the door.

Good luck these cars can be a PITA to fix sometimes.
 
FordNut -- ok, i may try to disable the anti-theft, but now im thinking that anti-theft has nothing to do with this..... i worried that anti-theft may be the culprit, but i was always trying to start it with the door open. Duh of course it blinks with the door open. SO i went out, closed the door before i tried to start -- no anti-theft blink. Maybe i should be ruling that out for now. Besides, i believe that anti-theft would be disabling the starter motor, which works.

Unity, yes checked fuses, relays, replaced the crank sensor.. the old one was bad. I knew this because I put an ohm-meter on it and it read open circuit. also replaced the PCM and EDIS..... and thanks for not reading... this is part of my problem.... cant get enough people that know this system to read my posts. Don't mean to be rude but im pretty aggrivated. But, since you re-itterated the point that it must be the crank sensor, I will check the continuity of the crank sensor wires back to .... well wherever they are supposed to be connected..... I assume to the PCM? Maybe the wire insulation rubbed away over time and grounded to metal, burning up the thin magnet wire inside the sensor. Who knows.
 
1st gen cars will not turn over if alarm is activated, as it's a starter interrupt relay for that system... So your right it should have nothing to do with it if it's turning over.
How did you check to see it had no spark?
Silly question, but have you checked that the inertia shut off switch in the trunk is pushed in ('ya never know!?)
Any codes present from the PCM (KOEO)?

Hey Icarus, thanks for the reply. The way I checked for no spark was to pull a plug wire from each coil pack, insert a piece of metal down into the plug connector in the coil pack, and touch the plug wire to the piece of metal while someone turns over the engine for me; a typical way of checking for spark. I also use an oscilloscope to look at any signal on the low voltage wires that feed the coil packs, and there is no signal on any of those wires.

I've never hear of an "inertia shut off switch" in the trunk... pushed "in"? What is it for? Where in the trunk is this?

If there were engine codes to check, shouldnt I at least get a check engine light when i turn the ignition key to the run position? I have no seen the check engine light come on. If I recall, there are two pins in the OBDI port that can be shorted together, to read a check engine blink sequence while the key is in the run position. I gotta find out which pins.

What is KOEO?

EDIT: ahh i see, in my schematics, an inertia fuel cut-off (opens on impact). I'm not thinking this is a fuel problem since I have no spark.

With all the non starts, is your battery at full charge and connections in good shape. Have you checked your fuses?
 
Metal down into coil pack? All you really have to do is pull a plug wire and put a spare plug in the end and ground the threads of the plug. Not sure why you would touch the coil packs with anything.

Did you check both coil packs? (actually there are four coils, two per pack split down middle)

because it is easier to get to the coil packs.

yes checked the fuses

yes im sure there is no spark.... there is also NO low voltage signals goin into the coil packs
 
Fixed.

It was the ignition module. The replacement was bad. Figured it couldnt be anything else, so I bought another and problem solved.

Now I have to fix my vents. I turn the AC on max, I hear the blower blowing hard, but nothing comes out of the vents. Checked all my fuses, checked all the connections to all the modules behind the glove box.

Gonna go look up the blend door troubles that I've seen people have.

The blend door is more about the temp than the direction of air. You have a cracked vacuum line in the engine bay most likely. Its usually black and enters the firewall neat the heater core on the passenger side.
 
Were did you get the first ignition module from ?

I want to make sure I never go there :(
 
lol, good to hear you got 'er going again :) It's frustrating to all he$$ when parts you get don't work ;)
