no power to my 12v outlet- help plz

i tried to do a quick search but it turned up nothing i was looking for, so i figure i'd make a topic.

the problem is the 12v cigarette lighter/outlet. my mom dropped a cigarette down underneath where the ashtry actually sits and so i attempted to fish it out. while doing that, i decided to "unscrew" the metal outlet thing in hopes of getting a better angle on the cigarette. i couldnt get the metal housing pulled out and didnt want to break it, so i screwed it back in. now, the outlet doesnt put out any power.

did it disconnect the wires somehow? how do i pull out that metal housing without taking out the whole console?

PS: its a 1998 if it makes a difference.

You might have blew the fuse or something like that check that first.

it was indeed a fuse. maybe i should have thought out the simple solutions instead of wanting to tear into things haha.

at least 25% of the cars coming into the shop have that fuse blown.

it also powers the DLC so i have no choice but to replace it.
