I'm stuck here, I have a 1996 Mark viii, and yesterday my a/c stopped, started for about 4 minutes, then went off again, for good. Now no air hot or cold will blow out of vents or floor. I did a scan for codes on the EATC. Nothing. Checked fuses, all good. Now I just don't know where to go from here, any help at all is appreciated. Worth mentioning that it hit about 105 here in vegas yesterday. Thanks!

Did you check both the fuse block INSIDE the car plus the fuse block UNDER THE HOOD?

NoLimit95 and Rick, yes. Both fuses. First thing I did. Thing thing that is so confusing to me is that it was intermittently working before it stopped, and ultimately, hasn't worked since. Thanks for the quick replies!

In that case, I would guess blower motor.

It is most likely the wire from the fan speed control to the fan motor. The terminals have a tendancy to heat up over the years and develop a loose connection. The harness has two wires. Black and orange. Remove the black plastic under the glove compartment and look up. You will see the blower motor. Put the A/C on and wiggle that wire. Problem solved.

That orange and black wire that is connected to the blower motor has become loose and is not providing a tight fit anymore. Remove the wire harness, and use a set of jeweler's screwdriver to compress the female side. If they show signs of arc, then you will need another one.

Awesome! wiggled the wires while the a/c was running, bam!!! A/C BACK ON!!
THANKS A MILLION GUYS!!!!

This post practically saved my life!!! I just lost my AC about and hour ago. I'm in south florida and it is very, very, very hot (I live in NJ). 95 degrees plus with very high humidity. I pulled the black plastic cover from under the glove box off and messed with the black and orange wires and the ac came back on!!

Gotta love the internet and this website today!
