Hey guys i been reading on this forum alot and i wanted to thank everyone for there advice but i have a problem that i cant seem to fix.

I have a 2002 lincoln lse and i just changed the thermostat and the coolant tank cap. I tired to bleed the lines but i dont think i did it correctly but anyway my problem is when i leave my house in the morning to go to work i drive about 2 miles and the temp guage starts to go up so i turn my heat on blast and it slowly dropps then put my ac back on and its fine the rest of the way. This is happening everytime i get in the car to drive it.
ANY ADVICE ANYONE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE lol

MoneyUWM, he said he changed the termostat already. That's interesting, why would it get hot, is your coolant level good? Maybe there is a leak somewhere? Maybe faulty sensor is just showing that you are overheating but in reality you are not.

Go ahead and do a search first, I have posted many if not all of the overheating problems. It can be a number of possibilities, Fan problem, reservoir with a hair line crack, air in the system, coolant level, radiator problem, thermostat. You said you replaced the thermostat and checked the coolant level, did you check it from the correct location? are you leaking antifreeze after you fill it up, is your fan working, can you see the water circulating when you have the fill port off?

i would sugest bleeding the lines again. An Air pocket may have formend around the heads and could be throwing of the CHTsensor.

Yes i changed the stat and the collant level is ok. I am going to try to bleed the lines again to see what happens.

Just want to make sure you know where to fill the coolant at. Not trying to be a smart @ss, but many people do not know about the cap under the engine cover. Are you leaking any coolant?

Well this is what i did when i finished changing the stat i filled that black cap under the cover with coolant and then unscrewed the end of the hose next to the coolant tank and started the car with the ac on blast untill it was a current flow then screwed the cap back on then realized i ran out of coolant and drove the car a few miles down the road to get more collant then fillde the tank. I am pretty sure i did something wrong. Can someone tell me how to bleed the lines the right way step by step. Thanksss

Pretty much like you did, but I would fill the reservoir and leave it hooked up. You dont want air in that hose either. Heater on high and I learned from an "old school" slightly rev the engine at a constant rpm, fill and then cap it before you let off the rev. Or if you have the fancy flush machine some mechanics have. do this a couple of times. I had a very similiar problem as you. It was actually a hair line crack at the bottom of the reservoir. Didnt notice it for a while, because it would spill just enough coolant while I was driving, then overheat. Wouldnt really gush out.
