New tune--Now knock

Well.. the first time I did my 350,000 mile first gen mark 8 literally "nothing happend" using the "amount seafoam suggests"

So I did a full can and got a Little smoke afterwards,
when I did 1.5 cans the car SMOKED LIKE CRAZY.

I'm assuming I had "so much" carbon build up the seafoam was either soaking into it and not removing it.. or evaporating in the intake.

that ONE treatment wound up being .5 can, 1 can and 1.5 cans... so in the end I wound up putting two full cans in the car on the same day.

no runs, drips or errors..and no problems for many miles after the fact.

One thing to NOTE...is..
IF you put ANY in your crankcase, I would not run WOT with the car until AFTER the oil had been changed.

hmmmm.... that seems like a ton of seafoam, but if it worked, it worked. I would build up slowly then.

as for the crank case:
Its going to thing your oil out, so yeah be nice to her, but you need to get it cycle through enough. The key is using a good oil filter to pick out al the crap you are going to loosen. I would HIGHLY recommend changing your oil after 500 or so miles after you take the seafoam oil out.

I just picked up 2 cans. Just in case I needed it. Plus, it was only 5.99 each, so I figured it was a good deal.

I'll give you a call in a little bit, sully. How long does this process take? 10 minutes? Just wondering if I can do it here at work, or if I need to wait til i get home.

yea that's what I did.. tried.. .5 cans.. 1 can then finally 1.5 cans..lol

And I agree with your oil change advice, run it easy for 500ish miles NO WOT/HIGH LOAD and change it.

getting the seafoam IN the car takes less than 5 minutes, but you want to let it sit and "soak/work" for 5-10 minutes minimum.

Then your gonna HAVE to go DRIVE the car and blow the crap out, and it's gonna SMOKE ALOT.. if either of those two issues is gonna be a problem at work.. then wait til you get home..

Also, you really want the cars engine to be cold when you do it....

id say 5 minutes of actual adding it, then 10 mins of waiting with another 5 or so minutes of running the car to blow it out. figure 30 minutes to do everything

text me and I'll call you like yesterday

Good deal. Probably have to wait til I get home.

So your oil change advice is add the seafoam, drive for 500, change oil then change again after another 500 miles on fresh oil?

Me? I'm not hard on the car anyways. Unless a mustang wants to race. Then I give her a go.

Wow, I appreciate all the feedback but I would like to clarify. I have no issue with the tuner at all, his work has changed my car from a old mans car into a car that can be pretty d*mn fun to drive. The trans. work alone is the best I have seen for a relatively stock car. As far as him not responding; I really don't believe it has been to long for him to get back to me, I am just a little A.D.D and hate to wait for anything. I just thought asking a question on this forum rather than pestering a guy (with a life of his own) that has already done a remarkable job on a very problematic and difficult car to work with would be a good approach. Also by asking here I learn to do it myself ( with advice from all of you) rather than taking instructions without working through and understanding the problem. I am getting the problem straightened out with a member on this sites help and will post results soon. Thanks again for all the helpful posts.
