Got to the track an hour and a half before it closed. I didn't take my system out or any of the other tons of crap that I have accumulated in my car. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing.

1. Nothing broke! So i'm doing better then the first time I went.
2. No spray, didn't have enough money to fill the bottle.
3. I weigh 300 lbs, two 12's subs in a big box and nitrous oxide system (not spraying so its just dead weight.)
4. Put on some BS used tires 235-60-16. Traction NA is the brand! lol

ok now that the excuses are out there. My personal best time of 14.5 @96 mph. 2.1 -2.260 foot. I've had better 60 foot times in the past, i seriously need some street slicks. But I ran it very consistant. I did not turn the car off between runs.

My R/T were crappy, but better than most people there .558 .468 etc etc. The announcer guy is freaking hillarious when you drag with a rag top in a old man car!

Next time I am going to remove every single piece of BS from my car, and practice the light. I think 13's NA are very very feasable.

I just would like to break 100mph e.t. My fastest et was 96.6. I wonder if being lowered makes any difference in traction?

also didn't have the filter routed into the fender. hot air intake... also someone needs to teach me how to load up on the converter. I just do 0/d off, traction control off and a/c off and punch it. I think jmod/valve body is up next because the shifts arn't quick/hard enough to my liking. Going to tune it up some more and get ready for another round on Sunday.

YOU DONT load the converter, lunch from idle.

yea thats what i did do! Salad FTW! I want to do all the bushings and bracings for the diff. Im feeling a lot a decent ammount of rocking when blipping the throttle when its locked in gear.

is Supercoupe Perf. the best place to get the carrier bushings and brace etc?

Brace is a waste, just adds weight. If SCCA is your gig then I would get it for handling but for straight line it will do nothing. All you need is traction.

well the 1 and 1/4 solid addco bar adds weight as well, but i mean the bushings would help the rocking - drive train feels a little loose and theres some wheel hop. The U-joints looked fine on inspection, so i dont know exactly what it is.

If im going about 40-50 with od off and blip the throttle i feel the driveline rocking. Stock driveshaft still holding up to the abuse.

14.6 ain't bad. Consistancy though is good.... now i can make adjustments and hown my driver skills. Need to drink a couple rock stars before going to the track and not drinking my face off the night before!

Have you checked your motor and trans mounts? Open the hood and power brake it and make sure the engine isn't lifting up.

I second this Make sure the drive train mounts are good first. I would recommend the carrier poly bushings if nothing else. 14.6 is a good time for what you have listed.

I did the carrier bushings when I did the 4:10 swap. I do know my one engine mount is broken and I notice the trans mount is shot to. Not sure how much these thing have to do with my drive shaft harmonic?

I also have a bad IMRC on bank 1 so I think I'll just wire it open for the E-town day.

You probably have 2 tenths to gain from unloading the trunk and it's supposed to be empty from all loose articles. Traction is likely another 1-2 tenths, so you're very close to your goal. ;)

100mph club here i come!

lol, spinning with a stock -> stockish converter doesnt give you a true reading for mph, it inflates it.

Find out what your corrected time/mph is to see what atmospheric conditions played in your run. Compairing one run one night to another run another night shows you absolutely nothing, even from two different runs in the same night, unless you correct it.

Fix that mount.

to go from 14.5 to 13.0 you need to lose 500lbs from your car.

If you run along side and press the gas pedal with a pool cue your 14.5 becomes 14.2
lose the crap in the trunk and that 14.2 becomes 14.0

your gonna have to be creative to overcome the 300lbs you add to the drivers seat.

your 500LBs away from your goal..

but I will say this.. picking up 4MPH isn't an easy task.
it doesnt sound like much, but 4PMPH is very significant and hard to acheive without making significant changes to the car.

Ive seen those rear covers break... On my buddies cobra 4 times. It's just extra security for me.

well when i had my subframe out the mounts and they looked fine so ill do the test with the powerbrake. I def have a rock in my drivetrain so the carrier bushings will be a good mod.

At least I got consistancy though, I also did not cool the car down between runs so that has a lot to do with it. The weight does so of course, also my reaction time was .4 .5 at best. The tires are garbage.

I'm going to take my car to get weighed with me in it when I have some free time. So ill have accurate power to weight ratio then start correcting.

My mark has that rag top and glass moon roof so thats probably 50 lbs right there. It'll be fun to see the times get faster as I learn about the sport.

Hp doesn't = track times! I'll take 14.5 @ 95 - 96 as a base all day. A couple adjustments here and there and itll be interesting to break into the 100 mph hour club. I could spray the piss out of it but the sporting aspect of it is very cool and also gives me incentive to lose some weight! Thanks for the input fellas.

Mods: 4.10's engine 255whp/254tq on mustang dyno, lowered 1.5 inches on coilovers, addco 1 1/4 rear sway bar (that thing weighs like 40 lbs), 02 mustang 4r70w. NA

I could lose 500 lbs easy on that car, - nitrous bottle, rear sway bar, moonroof (entertain the excess weight) rag top, rear seat, system bla bla bla etc etc me im 300 lbs

luckily I'm 130 and 5 foot exact without shoes and no i'm not a midget just short and light enough to make my mark 8 feels light as a civic

YES magic word COBRA which = stick shift. I have NEVER seen a rear component break on a Mark, supercharged, slicks, NOS...etc. Apples and oranges. I broke ONE axel once. I believe it was a fluke. NEVER ever a cover.
