yea!!!! all my crap showed up, no more blown 5x7's, i picked up a mtx 4300x amp that was matched to the 2300x that ive been using on my subs for about a year or so. and that will be running a set of clif designs CD60.4C 6.5" component speakers in the front doors, and some blaupunkt 3 way 5x7's for the back, and a new box for the subs. the blau...... were cheap $35, this and getting the other amp used (thanks midwestbird) alowed me to focus most of the money to the front components, they are beautiful its gonna be sad to cover them up but they should sound good. swapped out the box at work and i am happy with the results now i just cant wait to put in the rest, the plan was to go into work tomorrow (day off) and install the rest, well we will see if i make it there, with the storm rollin in who knows how the roads will be

Sweet deal dude. Obviously the upgraded speakers make a big difference, but is it a much bigger difference than the stock JBL's?

it should be (mine are blown) and the stock sys cant keep up to well with the rest of the sys, but ill find out more on mon

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! much better than stock. crystal clear, its funny you never realize how bad something sounds till you replace it. it took all day, this includes running new 4 channel rcs's runnin a new remote wire (shorted the old one somewhere during the install so just ran another) ran all new speaker wire, threw in the blau 5x7's that was easy, used 5x7 to 6.5 round speaker adapters (thanks ray) dropped in the component set in thw front doors ran wire to the little crossovers for the components in the trunk, chased my tail a few times then, violia i had sound in ALL speakers at ONCE!!!!! then during reassembly the radio cuts out..............wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!! then i realized the car batt was dying phewwwww, ok thats easy threw a charger on it and all is good, finished at quarter after five, so nothing is adjusted or set, and it sounds good, i need to turn the interior speakers down to balance the subs with the rest, and play with the eq and crossovers

Yeah it's great when you hook it all up and notice what you've been missing. Right now I'm only running Alpine components up front and Alpine 12's in the back. No speakers in the backseat. Sounds pretty good but I have no midrange. One thing though, one of my tweeters up front always makes these popping sounds and stuff at high volume, so I hook my factory tweeter back up and it still does it. I'm thinkin my crossover may be messed up.

that was one of the many probs with my stock sys, the internal crossover in the fact amp was shot for the drivers front tweeter, so at high volumes the bass would pop through the tweeter, originally thought that the stock tweet blew so i replaced them with some kenwood and same problem

:blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: didnt really get to turn it up to much, need to turn the gains down for the interior, i need more bass, but from what i can tell it sounds great so far

how do you like those subs?
ive tried them out and was not very impressed,

i have 2 ollld rockford fostgate 10" punch subs powerd by 2 800 wat amps.

Your not kidding!! The first aftermarket sound I ever put in a car was what I have now, and I was amazed. I sit in the other mark now and cant stand the sound = I love my sound system!!! Congrats Man!

so what and where ae u placing that 8" moitor and is it easy to run new wires to the new 6.5" Comp set in the doors?

I'm assuming he'll just mount the screen in the dash where the stock radio is. And running new wire in the car is pretty easy. The hardest part is getting around the cramped space in the front kick panel area, with all the computers and whatnot.

The screen is going to be mounted on the flat part of the dash in front of the passengers lefthand air vent. I will use the space where the stock CD player is as a switchpanel (driving lights, radar detector, nitrous arm and purge, along with music/playlist controls for the computer.)

i like them they hit good for the price and can take a good amount of abuse.

i played with the tuning today (a little) but its a PIA i can get good bass with rock OR with rap, not both arg!! part of the prob is my radio onlt has 4 rca outputs so im using the "sum output" of the 4 channel to run the 2ch for the subs. so i get it sounding good (to the point of finishing up with the head unit) and when i adjust the h.u. it adjusts the bass, rember the "sum out" it is a balanced signal from all 4 channels, so this should be fun to adjust the entire sys from the trunk! yippieeeee!!!!!!!!!!

just takes time, i know how ya feel. but its well worth it in the end. it took me days to wire up, tune, and angle everyting the way i wanted it. but finnaly got it and sounds great! hits very hard!

Those front are bi-ampable huh?

You should run that 4 ch just to the fronts, then get a class d or analog 2 ch for your subs...
