Hey Everybody, I was just getting ready to replace the pads on my LS. I noticed all my rotors are pretty rusty (center and edges) and was going to change them.

Are there any materials I should avoid or try to find when buying new rotors? I can't stand the look of rotors that have rust on them.

Thanks a bunch everybody, I appreciate the help.

P.S. - Found some on ebay, any thoughts? Are these just snake-oil rotors that are going to rust on me?

Usually any rotor that says it has a zinc coating will last awhile before rust starts forming.. I bought rotors and pads off of eBay for less than 200 shipped for all four corners and they are just starting to rust (car sat outside for 3 months and I didn't drive it). Had them on for about a year..

Edit: I would go with the brake labs one.. A little bit more but they are R1Concepts rotors.. The pads aren't the best but they are ok.. I have this combo on my ranger and they seem to work great..

Inspection is soon and I know I'll need new brakes and last time it was inspected (about a year ago) they said my rotors weren't in the best of shape.

Right now it's a toss up between these
Anyone heard of/used irotors?

and these

OR should I do EBC Rotors for $160 and get some EBC Redstuff brake pads for 85 - a total of $245

NYC when you took the EBC's off what did you replace them with? I wanted something simple like the ones you put in the back.

I went with the RotorPros package on here. It came with slotted/dimpled rotors, braided brake lines, and ceramic pads. I have no complaints and have had them for a month or so.

AutoZone rotors and with I think Wagner? semi-metallic pads in the back. The fronts got the best ceramic AutoZone pads with the EBC rotors since those didn't get mangled.

all rotors will rust eventually even if zinc coated, the zinc will wear off sooner or later. if you really dont want them to rust then take the rotors and have them power coated and carefully sand off only area that the pad contacts, and they will look amazing forever
