Well, I guess I can say I'm a proud "new" owner of a 2000 LS6 auto....silver, gray interior, Alpine stereo with glove box eating changer and polished rims.
29,600 one owner garage kept mileage goodness on it, almost like buying a brand new 12 year old car, for the modest sum of $3K.
Sadly, it came into my possession due to a death in the family, so it's not all sunshine, roses, and puppies.
Been lurking through this site for a couple days now, searching for info, as it seems other than factory service manuals, there's very little else in terms of written tech/service info? Unlike some, I have no issue with Haynes or Chilton manuals, info is info, the more the better. So far I've determined the coil issues, and how to re-wire when using aftermarket ( Accel ) "universal" types, cooling system parts are expensive for the V6?, and simple plug changes aren't so simple...LOL
Are there any other known issues with these ( V6 ) cars? I saw something about the hydraulic fans, but not sure.
Also, what's the vendor ( factory Ford parts ) situation like? My other car is an E36 M3, and there's a lot of vendors selling factory BMW parts for 20, 30, sometimes 50% less than what one would pay the Stealer for. These are legit businesses, not gray market parts, case in point Tischer BMW in Sliver Spring MD...Is there anything like that for Ford?
Now for super dumb question of the day, I live in Virginia and the car came from PA, and PA isn't as anal when it comes to plates. Looking at the front bumper I see no provision to mount a front plate, is there some factory contraption, two versions of that chrome strip, one with mounting and one without? VA cops can be, at times, ruthless about front plates and will issue a ticket no matter what.
