thanks guys. i looked at my wife as though she was crazy with toyota avalon came out of her mouth then i happened to see one passing by the dealership and decided to check it out. no wi have one..lol. it was between that or the 07 maxima. the maxima was nice also with that CVT transmission. you really cant feel it shift. simply amazing. but the avalon came out on top. imo

You can't feel CVTs shift because they don't shift. They don't have traditional gearsets, so there are no gears to shift.

Nice car, the interior is very nice in those. Looots of car for the money.

You should tint it a little bit.

I drove a car with CVT and I hated it, you don't feel the way it shifts, but the engine stays at the same RPMs and it's very annoying.

thanx for the compliments guyz. yea its front wheel drive. its the family car pretty much.. u know for road trips and such but it still has a pretty good get up so far.280 hp and still 31mpg is what really caught me besides all the features. i haven`t went wot yet. but it seems as though it wants to move more than the ls. i like it alot. and yea the maximas cvt is kind of annoying but it still is amazing to me. really smooth but almost too smooth. i think i like the feel of bearly feeling the gears shift. just not a fan of not feeling it at all.

and yea i think i`m gonna go with probably 35% on this one i`m goin for the classy look. then some chrome 20`s wheels in the future.

I like the way you think.

Cool, those have the completely flat floor in the back right?
yea it does. so 3 people can sit more comfortable in the rear seats.

and yea it does say toyota, but its still a head turner,( she got her first coat of eagle 1 nano wax, and some tire shine today) which also says that it will hold its value better than any regular american car. i test drove the 07 lexus es350 and the avalon blew it away. i love my lincoln but i think i`m gonna have to go import when its time to let the ls go. i`m thinkin Mercedes-Benz. just a thought though.

thanks for all the good comments guys. i also got a 5 yr 60k full waranty with free oil changes and servicing until that expires. so all i have to worry about is the lincoln whose waranty will be up in march :-/

Great choice. My summer job last year was a lot attendant and driving the Avalons was always a treat. They are a sweet, smooth ride and the interior is a lot nicer that people think.
Hope your wife has fun with it!

The Avalon is nice. It was one of the cars i was looking at before i got my first LS. The new styling on the '07 is nice. One thing to criticize, while test driving some cars that have the same kind of dash/radio setup i didnt like the separate display area from the actual controls. You have to keep your eyes going back and forth which i didnt like. Stuff like that which keeps my eyes off the road concerns me. Otherwise its a nice car. I think fwd keeps me away from alot of nice cars like the Avalon too.

yea the looking up and down really didn`t bother me because you could just use the steering wheel mounted audio controls once everything is preset so there wouldn`t really be a need for me to even take my eyes off the road. same thing with the ac also. all right there. in the case of the fwd, all the other features it had kinda made that factor invisible for me. i have the ls which is rear wheel drive, but it really serves me no purpose i`ll just be able to twist the back end out of a corner if i needed to, which i probably did 3 times in the past 2 years. so this car really seemed to be what we needed. i`m really loving the 26mpg around the city with regular gas, and thanks for the compliment. means alot coming from you. :D take it easy.

Very Nice Car.

But just a datapoint..RWD isn't a "feature" that you "use" every now and again. It's something that is present in handling every day. It's what allows a near 50/50 weight distribution between front and rear. That balance provides for performance and emergency handling abilities that the Avalon can't come close to. In short, you've been utilizing the benefits of RWD every time you drove/drive the LS.

There is also something called Torque Steer...that plagues higher powered FWD cars, but never is an issue with RWD cars.

yes i agree on the facts you posted about rwd cars and i also know rwd is not a " feature" , but all i was trying to imply is that i would not die if i had to do without rwd. i dont drive agressively much at all so all the senarios where a rwd auto would provide better results than a fwd, i am not really faced with. yea i do know that the ls will out perform the avalon around the track, different in a straight line, but i dont think i will be putting the avalon on the track in the near future. its the family car mainly purchaced for road trips and reliability. it just happens to have a lil extra features that i like. just remember its my wifes car :), and the ls is my daily driver and i like it because i haven`t traded or sold it yet. i just dont think its a big deal for a family car.

oh yea the car is cute huh.. :D thanks

Points taken. For a family car, I probably would agree that the Avalon is better than the LS, actually. The Front Wheel Drive would be an advantage space wise, due to lack of center floor hump for the rear passenger. Ride comfort is probably better due to the all season tires and softer suspension.
Good selection of cars in your driveway my friend!

I have a 05 Avy limited as well. I love that car lots o power. On the other hand the "laser" cruise is not what its cracked up to be IMHO. BTW you car is not making the full 280hp without using 93+ octane. We love the car lots of back seat room and a huge trunk which is what we were looking for. Black is one of my favorite colors on the avy. good luck!!!!!!!!!

that is a real nice ride! I not a family man but if i was id get one of these! my buddy has a lexus and this avalon, he tells me he rather use the avalon everytime.
