new performance product that might work

its for a mustang 05-06, but they might have more on the website. I was searching through a ford mag and stumbled on it.

Realistically, they will probably not have it for the LS. Unless the mustang and the LS use the same kind, it will probably need slight modification.

Its been discussed lightly before. It'd be a nice mod since the coils can be a problem down the road anyway. Not likely a direct fit but who knows.

don't get it.. the LS is not a race car... its a big heavy car that has decent power but can't beat anything but some rice rockets... not even allot of those..

He has a point. But, it's fun pulling up to something in a car that looks slow and blowing it away!

You know what the fun part of owning cars. It is all about about making more horsepower and personalizing your ride. It doesnt matter what you own/drive. There a lot of 2 doors/4 doors small/big cubic inches that have been modified that can smoke most sports cars.

So please stop telling someone who would like to squeeze every little thing he can out of his car, not to waste his money, because our LS are not ment to be modified. You see I have owned 2 Mustangs , and have modified and drag raced both. I now have 98 SHO and LS.... since the first day I drag raced my Mustang, it has been like a disease ever since.. I am now always looking at ways to improve on what I have... its fun.

Just so you know at the track when most people see my car and think it is just a Taurus... and it hangs with them or catches them off guard, they are impressed and amazed. Honestly I was a lot quicker in my Mustang, but it also wasn't 149 MPH grocery getter either. :D

** Okay I am stepping down from my soap box now**

I agree. Its a fun car to drive and isn't slow at all. Actually the car is quicker than its been given credit for, 03ups especially. I've done 2 things to increase hp my 02 and it responded great to both. To each his own, if you just want to putter around only using part of the throttle, fine, we don't rag on you guys about that. Some of us want to push it a little, some more than others.

Yeah I know.... Honestly not one of my best though.

But you still read it :D And whether you got my point, well that remains to be seen. :)

Why not mount the coil you are talking about to the boots for and LS. It looks like it would work. Too bad I just replaced all mine or I might give it a try.
It is your car, your ride, your style, your taste . . . do whatever you want to it . . .. . ITS YOURS!

I dont own one. Im doing the general public a favor and finding parts for the LS. This way when I hopfully own it the aftermarket will be better. Their bad ass cars, but nobody is giving them a real shot.

Well I'm at 52K with my V-8 and still running fine, however the day will come. I thought about E-mailing but didn't want to waste anyones time as I don't need them yet, but if I knew they fit I'd likely get them sooner than later to avoid the problem. I went onto Rock Autos site and compared our coil # in motorcraft to Mustang, Muarader, F150, etc coils, they are different #s. That may might not mean a whole lot though. You would think with the well know need to replace the coils on these cars there would be interest in the aftermarket performance would to produce them to fit. Give them a shout.

maybe if you (or anyone) ask someone who works at a ford dealership like one of their mechanics. I live in south florida and am convinced that every dealership is trying to rip you off. They'd probably not even listen to the question and tell me to bring the car in. Or just say "i dont know" like they normally do. like its their job, if they dont know a simple question like that, then what do they know?

Be careful of the Granatelli coils. They work great...but they don't always fit under the coil covers. You have to use a spacer.

00_slow_5spd_ls,

I think if you have a lucky rabbits foot you should grab it. Because the way I figure is most manufactures are to cheap to change their designs for products because it will cost them extra money. If they use the same coil for the crown vic, mustang, and let say something else. They would save money if they design the LS to use the same coil as their other cars. Just like the trans. Instead of making a trans thats speacil for the LS, they use the same one thats in the new A/T 05-06 mustang.

If worse comes to worse you could probably just modifiy them to fit.

If you buy them and they work im sure you'll get mad props for finding another performance product for the LS.

good luck
