Here's a spy photo of the proposed Lincoln Mark IX which originally appeared in the March-April 1998 Continental Connector. It predicted the retro-car craze (Volkswagen's New Beetle, the new Ford Thunderbird, the BMW Austin Mini and the PT Cruiser). Parked in the background is a 1956 Continental Mark II. The Mark IX is a cabriolet with the look of the original 1940 Lincoln Continental - the first Mark. This prototype of the Mark IX is based on the discontinued Mark VIII platform.
