Hi Guys
I have a 2002 LS V8 with 108K miles on it. I am amazed at the condition of this car, no door dings, interior looks like new, paint perfect (parchment). I love this thing.
I have little knowledge of the car besides what a carfax could give me, which was precious little. One thing it did say was the car had a major service at 90K. I tried to get more info from the dealer but they have gone belly up. It has a few problems (below) that I have already fixed, with the help of this forum saving me a lot of trouble and time.
I have changed the sway bar bushings (no clunk now), replaced a rear wheel bearing (silent now), and changed all the fluids and filters. Put in new JBL speakers (stereo this weekend, with bluetooth handsfree).
I ordered plugs and coils (from Global Auto before I joined this forum, but they look right so far) to do this basic maintenance.
Here is the thing: the motor runs great, no misses, no hesitation, nothing. I don't want to put new plugs and coils in this thing if it doesn't need them. Is there any way to tell if they are the original plugs and coils? I heard from the dealer about a "paint spot" but he was none too specific, and the guy is only right half the time anyway.
Recommendation? Change them anyway? Or what?
Thanks for any help!
