Well i've had my 2001 LS for about 6 months now and it has been very troubled. Tranny went out due to a bad computer. New coils and plugs due to a missfire. I love the car but now a couple issues have me stumped. I have searched many times. Just want some extra advice

#1 Have the dreaded beeps at startup, cruise and horn is inop, radio is aftermarket so not sure on buttons. I believe the Clockspring is bad causing all this.

#2 car wont start at times. No cranck but all powers up. No lights on at all. red security light blinks a 1 then 4 times. Cant find any info on this.

#3 car overheats. I replaced the badly cracked degas bottle and blead according to ford. Still overheats and seems the fan is not kicking into high. read could be the solenoid sticking, also put a 12" pusher fan on but still got hot. Kinda stumped on this also.

Thanks for any help guys.

#1 Your SRS light is burned out and you have an SRS problem. You already know that problem is the clockspring.

#2 Flash code 14 is B1602 = You have another PATS key or device on your key ring that is interfering. Your key is bad (have you tried two different keys?). Your PATS transceiver is bad.

#3. So you know that the fan isn't going to high speed. You know that the solenoid is probably to blame, but you are still stumped? I don't know how to help you then.

I guess, i figured with the auxilay fan it would not get hot. I will replace the solenoid and go from there. Thanks for the advice. I work on old cars and this is the newest car i've ever owned so trouble shooting electrical issues are not my strong point. The most advance car to my Lincoln is a 68 Torino GT fastback

joegr is right but also in the overheating issue. remove and inspect all the hoses its a general rule on the LS when the degas bottle goes check and replace all plastic components on the cooling system you should start with the uper radiator hose and the thermostat housing ususally the covers melt and hairline fractures / melting of the actually plastic happens. also so a quick search here for fan issues on the GEN 1 LS secondly start the car, turn on the a/c, the fan should go to high speed if it dont then replace the selenoid.
