I'm having mine repainted the Pearl White and I was quoted 2 grand. 10 grand is a show car paint job.

Not out here. They said they would remove all the trim and repaint the door jams, under the hood and trunk also. Once they were done there would be no evidence of the previous color.

Two grand here will get you a high quality Earl Scheib paint job.

Black is boring, it shows scratches easily and its hard to keep clean.

Buy a new one. I asked and to repaint my '00 LS would cost ~$10K! Of course, it's no Earl Scheib $99.99 special, either.

Holy sh#$t that's a lot of money for a paint job. I guess it depends on what you want, because I know where I'm from originally in the South you can get your car painted and everything done just the same for under five. If I paid 10 grand for a paint job, it better have my dam name painted into the paint or something. But just for a simple job of going another color, no pattern, murals or special effects or nothing, no way. But I understand in different locations of the country things cost different depending the demand for certain things.

I agree which is why I always did not like black, how ever it is also why I suggest obsidian. Whole different level.


If anything green is gross and show scratches just as bad.


10k is still a lot, sounds like a factory Lincoln Dealership quote. 2k is way to cheap. For a good paint job that's not the factory paint but still beyond quality somewhere in between should be good.

I'd be very wary of someone quoting more than $5-$6k for a single color full repaint. You might want to look around.

And that includes everything you mentioned.

The one I was quoted is not to do the jams or any of that because I'm staying with the original color.
