need some help!!!!

my driver door is acting funny. It seems like I have been having to use more and more effor to get the door open. The lever seems to have to be pulled further and further. help!!!!! Iam not tryn to be trapped in my car. And I refuse to hop out the passenger side. Man thats bringing back flashbacks of my oldsmobile. :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang
