so i just bought a base 94 mark 8 143000 miles loaded really pretty good condition for a 16 year old car and i only paid 1500 for it so its bound to have a few problems. the ball joints need replacing there a rattle coming from the back (forgot what the shop said that was) and it could use a tune-up but the biggest problem is that the front air shocks leak. after a while of the car being off (couple hours) the front will be way down, fender resting on the tires. but when i turn the car on the compressor turns on and fills them all the way up in only 2-3 mins if its parked on level ground other wise it will either not turn on at all or only fill up part way. so i know that i will probably have to replace the shocks so my questions are, with the compressor having to fill the shocks up like that most every time i drive the car how long before that burns out? what is the life span of air shocks if i went with new aftermarket ones? and does having air shocks really give you any better MPG on the highway? any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks
