Make a long story short I purchased this Ls with bulbs missing in my cluster recently replaced the missing ones now the fun starts. My abs traction and brake light are on, now I did search the site and found that this could be caused by a bad wheel sensor/ low battery/ low brake fuild. But to be sure I went to a local cottman and let them ran a free scan.(after making sure fuild was at max which it was) Now I have these codes P0401 EGR insufficient flow P1572 Brk pedal switch malf. C1805 mismatched PCM/ABS/TCW V1262 scp data fault and last B1676 voltage out of range. So now I'm thinking would a low battery trigger a these lights? I'm leaning towards a module failure. Please help, and it's a 2001 Ls v6 119,655 miles

Low battery no.
The problem here is that troubleshooting is much more complicated than if your car had been working correctly then had a problem. Instead, you have a car that who knows what has been done to before you got it. I'm sure that removing blubs wasn't the only wrong thing they did.
I can't see diagnosing this over the web. You need to go to a really good dealer and probably pay a lot of money, or dump this one and buy a working LS.

I brought it from a used car dealership but I'm young and dumb so I brought it "as is" fml

There's nothing wrong with "as-is." That's about all you'll find in the price range that you are shopping in. There's no way to indicate all the things that you should check on a used car in one post.

Here's what you should always check that would have caught these issues.
When you turn the key to on, always check for all the lights that should come on, check engine, ABS, SRS, OIL, Battery/Alt, traction or advancetrac and so on. Apply the parking brake and make sure the brake light comes on. Missing warning lights are a big sign of tampering to make a sell, and you should walk away.

During the test drive, you should stop hard enough to activate the ABS at least once. Stomp on it at least once to activate traction control or advancetrac (whichever it has).

That's just to check for the problems you know you have on this one. There are many other things to check for as well.

You're not dumb (probably), just inexperienced in this. We all have to learn. I'm sorry this particular lesson may be a painful one.

Yea my uncle already dug into me about doing that check, he said you can replace a head gasket in your cousin's punk civic but you didn't check for warning lights? Cottmans is going to give a better dianosgics on Monday so I know what to replace

Contact consumers affair for your county. Sounds like a little deception

Before contacting the agencies that will side on you with this lemon.....as of right now it is a lemon.....lemonade can be made I'm sure.....go with your Uncle or someone with a bit more experience and put a little pressure on them. They know they did wrong, if they don't want this to get to the Better Business Bureau, potential customers, the news, ect. ect. ect they my just make it right with you.

There are laws to protect consumers against scum.

Good Luck.

You can also call your local TV station's consumer advocate hotline. When they get involved the evildoer will suddenly call it a misunderstanding and fix the problem they caused since now the entire local area is seeing them as a thief. Then you don't do business with them again.

Contact the Better Buisness Bureau also. They were a big help against a Ford dealer for me!

Have you had the time to fully read the contract? I can't believe they can sell a car in NJ and not disclose these defects. I would think that it had to pass state inspection. Please post your results. Good Luck

i know jersey has beefier laws on cars but i think they are all emissions related. dont qoute me tho. Agree that you should have a crew go talk to them. big intimidating dude, plus a talker. even better if theyre the same person. maybe the dealer got worked too and didnt notice the lights were out. dealer would probably eat that just to avoid the problems it could pose for them. worth a shot

I gave him pictures of my empty cluster and a list of codes from cottman and said doesn't your place have a good rating on the better bussiness burea?

Hmm, less exciting than some of the member suggestions but glad it was resolved so painlessly.
