Need Help

So my passenger rear door stopped working. One day it just stopped opening, from inside and out. I have probably used the door 3 times, i am assuming the cable broke or detached. Anyone have any experience with this. I believe the door panel comes off in two pieces, right? There is a screw that is impossible to get to when the door is shut. ANy ideas??????

Maybe pull off that black cover behind the door handle (interior side), and pull the cable directly instead of relying on the handle?

That black piece pops off by way of a flathead screwdriver.

i will try to pop off the black piece, that diagram doesnt work for this because i cant open the door.
