I have a 91 4.6L V8 :L , I have been told it is the same as a Mustang 4.6L V8. Does any one know were i can get an intake for it and other mods? :feedback

They are pretty different I believe one big difference being the Town Car 4.6 is SOHC (Single Overhead Cam) while the Mustang is DOHC (Dual Overhead Cam) I haven't seen much performance wise the Town Car 4.6 sorry

check out the 4.6 technical section on www.crownvic.net. do a search and make sure and set it to look at more than posts within the last week and more than 50 posts per page or click on next at the bottom right of the pages.

Just put a CD deck in

I put a JVC deck in that playes MP3 and WMA.

I now need new speakers cuz this new deck pushes a lot more power and stock just is now working well. What brand should i get? When i last looked in the front it 6x8 and the back it 6x9. :dj: I wanna make my Town Car BOOOOM!!!!

Same block, all years with very few changed over the years. Same heads from 96-98.

Correct.

Spend some cash and do a PI head and intake swap (any 1999+ Mustang, or 2001+ Town Car, Crown Vic, Grand Marq)

Next, get the intake tube, MAF, and airbox from a Mercury Marauder. You'll also need a chip. You may also have to do a little wiring, but nothing insane.

Don't forget an upgraded true-dual exhaust with a pair of Flowmasters or MagnaFlow.All-in-all, this stuff could net you up to 100+ horsepower...

You'll find all this in the Crown Vic section @ Angry Duck Tofu Racing, a Panther performance specialist:

www.adtr.net for the Panther performance stuff, you'll find the PI heads/ intake

And BTW, AVOID CrownVic.net. Nothing but kids, morons, idiots, academy rejects, and police impersonators jacking-off to Galls catalogs over there...

LOL remember Sherriff?

He still haunts CrownVic.us; ever since his arrest for impersonation, it's been a troll-zoo over there...

dude crownvic.net like all forums has some pointless crap and jerks but so does almost any internet forum. There are many posts and links to helpful information.

Not to whore your thread but about how much would a whole setup cost heads,cams,intake,chip,... cost? Difficulty?

PI Heads can usually be found on eBay or the Modular forums for under $350. The intake, around $250.

The K&N cold air kit around $200

Chips range from $250-$350

All-in-all, you should spend no more than $750 for all of that. As for installation difficulty- if you have to ask how difficult it is to install heads, etc., You should probably consult with a trusted mechanically inclined friend. It's not difficult, but if you've never done it before, get help...

Upgrade

I finaly put a mod on my Town Car

Its an enforcer trany

all i need is the chip too and im a under cover cop hehehe

Here is what I have and I love it - you should check it out! hits very nice w/o the sub -and I can't wait tillI get my sub!

JVC KDLH910 - Head Unit

Boston Acoustics NX-67 6.5 (front speakers)

Poneer Premier TS-D691R (6" x 9" REV-series 2-Way Speaker) - Rear speakers

JL Audio 300W/4 (got it feeding all 6 speakers though)

Since they (Car Tunes) where already in there I also had them wire it up for a sub later down the road.

Pioneer make great CD players so I would go with them... I've got...
Pioneer P4600MP
Kicker KS 6x9 in the rear deck
Kicker K5x7 in the front doors
A Kicker 150.2 Amp on the highs and lows
2 Kicker 12 Inch Comp VR's in a custom sealed ported box
A Kicker 600.2 Amp on the 2 subs
a 1.5 cap Digital FareAd
All 4 gauge wire
And a second battery in the trunk

Get a set up like this and youll be bangin hard as hell, I havent met a car on the road that hit harder than me yet, and i dont even have my bass up high LoL
