I have a 2004 LSE and I am having a problem with my A/C. Here's the deal......My A/C use to be ice cold to the point where you could not drive around with it on high for to long or you would freeze. One day it started to get warm and them blow hot out of the passenger side vents and then eventually all the vents. I took it to the ford dealer that day and they changed the DCCV under warranty and said it was good to go. When I picked it up the A/C did not seem as cold as before and at times it would only blow cool(almost warm) out of the vents. I brought it back to the dealer and they said they could not find anything wrong with it. After some b@tchin and moaning they looked at it again and decided to suck down the system and recharge it. It still does not seem right.
One question I have that maybe some of the lincoln techs on here could answer is, on average how cold should the temperature out of the vents be on max A/C. I bought one of the A/C thermometers and the temperature coming out of my vents on average is 48-50 degrees or higher. At times it has dropped to about 44 degrees but it will then raise back up to about 50 degrees sometimes reaching as high as 55. I never did measure the temperature prior to the DCCV being replaced. The ford dealer has pretty much told me that everything seems fine to them and that they do not know what could be wrong. They suggested I bring my car to an actual lincoln dealer. It is frustrating as I said because prior to the DCCV being replaced my A/C was nice and cold and I never had any problems. it now seems that every other car I get into the A/C is much colder then my lincoln. Is there something that the dealer is missing. Is there any tests i can do? I was also wondering if maybe the DCCV they put in could be faulty. I am at my wits end and throw myself at the mercy of the members on this board. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry for such a long post.
