Just a heads up. You can ask the questions you need to in your existing thread without starting a new one.

Then it was not wired to the ignition. Do you have a volt meter of test light? If not, take it to an audio shop and stop making multiple threads about the same thing! If you dont know how to test your connections or how to find a switched ignition input then you should not be doing this install by yourself.

^ this pretty much sums it up, all points included.

if your amp wouldn't shut off, then you did not have an ignition source.

easiest would be the accessory wire at the radio's harness.

I tapped into something in the fuse panel in the trunk. Hell if I could tell you which one I tapped into, though.

while it is the easiest, the biggest down side to that location is that the amp will only be turned on when the key is in the ignition position, and not the ACC position, if this is not a concern for anybody, should be fine, however i would strongly recommend fusing your amp turn on wire where you tap it, if the amp goes bad and shorts out or it gets grounded out, it will disable the car.

Exactly why I used a remote turn-on for my amp install 10 years ago. The remote I used has been discontinued, but PIE appears to make something similar.

I tapped into a speaker wire so have amp power whenever there is speaker power (i.e. whenever the radio is on).
