Need Help!! Tranny Issues

Today i was crusing in my LS like any other day when all of the sudden i start to here a weird grinding sound coming from the bottom of the shifter.I stopped imeadiatlly to see if it was a lose part from the bottom of the car...but guess what it wasnt... so I keep going and all of the sudden the noise disappears.Now on to the real problem... i park my car in my house and i put the shifter to parking(P) and the car stays like it was neutral(N) I turn off the car wait several seconds when i turned it on again it applied Reverse Drive and de SST worked but i cannot put parking it was like it was in neutral

Please help me since I dont want to use only de E-Brake to park in hill such ass my driveway

sounds like the parking prawl was trying to engage, that was the grinding sound and it likely destroyed it. Take it to a tranny shop, #1 they will likely have to replace the prawl, #2 they will need to figure out why it was trying to engage....
