I have an LS at the shop. It's a 2001ls with a 3.9. It has no power to the fuel pump. The so called mechanic I manage over has thrown a fuel pump and relay at it and it still doesn't run. This has been 3 days of BS for me. I have been told that it's the computer now. Does this sound right to you is this a common occurance in the LS?

Any help at all is greatly appreciated TIA.

the fuel pump is controled by the REM (rear electronics module) which is the only Ford that does it this way (most use a separate FPDM). You should be able to test that the relay is infact working and if you are getting any signal to control the duty cycle of the pump.

check cut off switch

on drivers kick panel there is a switch to cut off fuel incase of an accident, make sure its reset, sometimes it kicks off. there are two fuses and one relay for the fuel pump, check them all.

Like on the Windstar vans, its in the back right hand side.. If you hit the side, you can hear the pump quit.. It's actually kind of cool test..

its also a cool test in the parking lot after someone dings your car.

payback!

oh no my vehicle wont start wtf?????

Thanks for some ideas. What is odd is sometimes it will start for a second and then die. maybe that will help also.

iac valve

the iac valve on the throttle body will stop this car in its tracks if it fails. try starting it with your gas pedal half way down. if it starts then consider the iac.
