I was just wondering, got thinking about this and it is not about giving back my Marauder to get my LS but just curious.

I well use my recent purchase as an example though. Say you get a nice deal on a car, you trade in your LS but after having the car a couple of days and the dealer having you come in to do this and that and generally treating you like a chump you decide maybe your choice was wrong and want to give the car back. What would you do? I'd assume just saying you do not want it anymore and you want your old car back they would try to dick you around and probably take your down payment even thought you only put under 100 miles on the car. In my situation I do not really want my car back but I noticed a few things about the Marauder I do not like, one being the going into reverse, noticed if its from D to R sometimes it does not catch like you think and you have to push it farther. Would that be a good reason?

Again, just wondering, I love the Marauder.

My man in that one post you went from hating ur car to loving ur car to wanting ur old car to not wanting ur old car.

I think no matter what u do u wont be happy.

Didnt u test drive the Maurader?

If ur thinkin like this, half assed decision making,, just cause it doesnt go into reverse as smooth as u like?,,lol come on now.

You knew u were goin from a "luxury" car to a non luxury car,, so it wont be as smooth and comfortable and nice as ur LS.

But im sure there is alot bout it thats better.,. like the fact of knowing when u get in it everyday,, half of u doesnt expect the coils to blow,, or ur gaskets to leak,, or ur ball joints to sh** the bed,, or 100 other LS issues.

Enjoy ur car, and stop whining..or i will send u the bill for my upcoming coils and gaskets replacement,,lol

He's not whining, he's asking a hypothetical question using his purchase as an example. Y'all might want to go back and read what he wrote.

The answer to the question is "it depends." Mainly, it depends on the laws of your state, which can be very different from those of the next state. In some states, you have fairly good consumer protection, but in some states, you might only be protected if the dealer did something clearly fraudulent (like rolling back the odometer).

If you really want to know, check with the Bar Association in your state. I know the Oklahoma Bar puts out pamphlets that give layman explanations of some consumer-related laws (like Oklahoma's Landlord-Tenant Act); these are often available in libraries, particularly law libraries (see your local law school to find a law library).

Actually he is talkin bout himself,, if u read it closely,, at the end he is complaining bout the maurader not goin into reverse,, and he is upset,, so he laid it out in a hypothetical way,, but he is seriously thinkin bout it.

See, where I work, its different, because they have a five day return policy. you can return your car for any reason what so ever

I think most return policies are just courtesy jestures. Unless you have a specific issue of wrong doing on the dealers part i dont think you'd have much to go on. But i'm not a lawyer.

Hey man. Calm down. I went through the same thing when I bought the mustang. Had one thing go wrong right after I bought the car but mine is under warranty, anyway just get it fixed. You could probably fix it yourself. sound as though the shfit cable needs to be adjusted a little. Don't sweat it, and I would not say the marauder is any less of a luxury than the LS. Marauders have a nice interior and I would have gotten one instead of the LS is I could have found one at a decent price.

Here in California, most dealers (new & used) have you sign a "Non Cooling Off" statement. Meaning that once you sign the papers and drive off the lot, that car is yours. No ifs, ands or buts. Nice to meet ya, wouldn't want to be ya. That car belongs to you and we don't want it back. Have a nice day.

But in your state... Your mileage may vary.

It's called buyer's remorse. Once someone buys something that costs a substantial amount of money, it is natural for that person to question their decision. At that point, they will begin finding faults with their purchase to justify their decision wasn't a good one.

As for the problem with the car going into reverse, it is fairly common in those cars (crown vics too). It isn't anything to worry about......I know this because I grew up in a Ford dealership.

And as for returning the car, each state has different laws regarding that issue. I know at the dealership I work at, you wouldn't be able to return the car because once the vehicle leaves the lot, it is yours to keep. Now, that isn't to say the dealership won't buy your car from you if you decide to trade it in, however, you will get raped on the value.

Thanks for the advice and inaccurate reading making it seem like I wanted to return the car, in no f'n way shape or form do I want to and if I did I would of said so in the first place. I love this car, researched it alittle and did take it for a test but the reverse did not happen until after the test drive. Its actually gotten better aswell as the starting problem. I think it just sat and was not used to it and had to work that kink out.

One reason I asked was cause I get alot of co-workers and what not asking me tons of different questions about getting a car, what to look for and what if... Its like once they find out that I know cars, have dealt w/ many dealers and detail and do work on cars they think I am the go to person and before I posted this ? I was asked at work about return policy's. I told 'em I was not sure so I would ask ALL my car forums I am apart of and seeing as I just got a car I used my experience as a typical way someone would want to take back a purchase.

So in conclusion, thanks, and for those that think they know all, well continue to think that but its your opinion and everyone has them. I just asked the question cause I was pondering it myself after being asked.

Yea I miss the LS and well think about it often but do not want it back. Main thing I miss is the very, very slightly better sound system and the cd changer but I can change that. I'm in the process of transfering my extended warranty to the Merc cause I called to cancel and they were all for working at a switch over so that is cool news.

Meet my first member from a Marauder site I joined, not many of us NCer's but its all good. Guy was about 50 or so very nice and his 'Rauder was awesome. Had a baer brake kit, bigger tires and has he rear rims widened for the even bigger tires in the rear(he loves the stock 18's). He had a SC and a built 4.6L putting 460 or so HP to the wheels. Had replaced the fake volt gauge w/ a gas pressure, water and tranny gauges on the console and had the boost gauge and another on the piller. Had magnaflows, remote start. Over 50K invested and wow. He had an awesome grill and the car just look great. I hope some day I can get some of that stuff done. I think and he does he should be in mid-high 12's.

We met at Dale Jarret Ford so the saleman were kinda on us but we got them away. He left before me and DAMN, that thing sound great and the salesman were all "Wow" and than I left the same way and followed him down the road as everyone was taking second, third and even fourth looks at us than I turned off.

Was sweet none the less. Figured I would just put it in here instead of wasting more space on a LS board

If u say so chief,,lol

Good Luck with the ride.

I love those cars. Ford blew it big time by not putting any hp in them from the factory. They could have been a winner for them. (kinda sounds like the LS, huh!)

In answer to your return policy, every state can be different. And it can also differ by whether or not you signed a financing contract with them. But I'll tell you...if you didn't sign a waiver, I would be surprised if you didn't have some sort of recourse for at least 3 days.

When I bought my new Acura (in Arizona) I had to bring it back the next day for an electrical glitch. They couldn't find it...even after being on the phone with Acura for hours. I was worried about a new car having electrical gremlins and went to the general manager about switching me out to another car. Not once did he say no. We finally agreed to give the shop another day to get it fixed before we went that route. Turned out to be nothing more than a poor connection. But I left that meeting feeling very comfortable that if they couldn't fix it, he would have replaced the car...and that is no easy feat once the paperwork has all been done on the original purchase.

I knew someone w/ the same problem w/ their acura. They found it pretty quickly though.
